What are tracked visits?

Tracked visits are the monthly allowance of visitor interactions that count toward your plan’s quota. Each plan includes a specific number of tracked visits per month.

What counts as a tracked visit?

Tracked visits include:
  • 404 page visits - when visitors access broken links
  • Redirect rule activations - when visitors trigger your pattern-based redirects
Does NOT count:
  • 301 redirect visits - unlimited on all plans
  • Pages that load successfully - normal site visits
Think of tracked visits as the “active work” Redirect Pro does each month to catch problems (404s) and apply dynamic rules. Permanent 301 redirects don’t count because they’re unlimited.

How quota usage works

Monthly reset

Your quota resets automatically every calendar month.

Usage tracking

As visitors access 404 pages or trigger redirect rules, your usage increases: Settings display:
  • Current plan: e.g. “Enterprise”
  • Current usage: “325 tracked visits”

What happens at quota limits

At 80% usage:
  • Email alert sent (if enabled in Settings)
  • Features still work normally
  • Time to take action before hitting 100%
At 100% usage:
  • Email alert sent (if enabled)
  • Broken link tracking pauses - new 404s or visits to already detected 404s aren’t recorded
  • Redirect rules pause - pattern-based redirects stop working
  • 301 redirects continue - unlimited, always active
  • Existing data remains accessible
Recovery:
  • Upgrade your plan for instant quota increase
  • Wait until monthly reset for automatic renewal

Managing your quota

Reduce quota usage

If consistently hitting quota limits, try these strategies: 1. Convert broken links to 301 redirects:
  • Review broken links
  • Create 301 redirects for high-traffic broken URLs
  • Future visits won’t count toward quota
2. Convert redirect rule matches to 301s (Enterprise): 3. Upgrade your plan:
  • Upgrade to next tier for more tracked visits
  • Growth: 500 visits/month
  • Enterprise: Unlimited visits

Plan the right quota

Choose based on your needs: Free (10 visits/month):
  • Development and testing stores
  • Very low traffic stores
  • Trying out the app
Starter (50 visits/month):
  • New stores with minimal broken links
  • Stores with mostly 301 redirects
  • Low-traffic stores
Growth (500 visits/month):
  • Established stores with active SEO
  • Moderate redirect rule usage
  • Regular broken link management
Enterprise (Unlimited):
  • High-traffic stores
  • Active redirect rule usage
  • Post-migration stores with many pattern redirects
  • Stores needing the rule matches feature
Start with a lower plan and upgrade as needed. It’s easy to upgrade mid-month if you’re approaching limits.

Homepage shows:
  • Total tracked visits this month
  • Breakdown: 404 visits vs redirect rule visits

Analytics page

See detailed metrics:
  1. Click See analytics on dashboard
  2. View usage over time
  3. Use date range picker for specific periods
  4. Identify usage spikes or patterns

Common quota questions

No, you can’t purchase additional visits. Instead:
  • Upgrade to a higher plan for more monthly visits
  • Convert patterns to 301 redirects (unlimited)
  • Wait for monthly quota reset
No, unused tracked visits don’t roll over to the next month. Your quota resets to the full amount each month.
Your new quota takes effect immediately. For example:
  • Starter (50 visits) → Growth (500 visits)
  • Had used 45 / 50
  • After upgrade: 45 / 500
  • Gained 450 additional visits instantly
