File format requirements

Your import file must be:
  • File type: .csv (Comma-Separated Values)
  • Column headers: Row 1 must have exactly Redirect from and Redirect to
  • Delimiter: Commas only (no semicolons, tabs, or pipes)

Common rejection reasons

Wrong file format or delimiters

Error: “Invalid file type” or “File must be CSV” Cause: File saved as .xls, .xlsx, .tsv, or other format. Fix:
  1. Open file in Excel or Google Sheets
  2. Go to File → Save As
  3. Choose CSV (Comma delimited) format
  4. Save and re-upload

Missing or incorrect column headers

Error: “Missing Redirect from header” or “Missing Redirect to header” Cause: First row doesn’t have the exact headers. Required headers (row 1):
  • Cell A1: Redirect from
  • Cell B1: Redirect to
Fix: Add the exact header row at the top of your CSV: 
Redirect from,Redirect to
/old-page,/new-page
Headers are case-sensitive and must match exactly.
